Plug it in
Red, white, and yellow cables from your VCR or camcorder into the Digitizer. Power cord into the wall. Push the USB stick in the front.
Press record
Hit play on your tape, hit record on the Digitizer. Watch it on your TV while it runs, or walk away — the auto-stop timer shuts it off for you.
Pull the USB out
You've got an MP4. Text it, post it, drop it in a shared folder, back it up twice. It's a normal video file now.
Most converters aren't really converters.

Do I need a VCR?
Yes — you need something that plays the tape. The Digitizer records what the player sends out; it doesn't have a tape deck inside it. Same goes for camcorder tapes: you'll use the camcorder itself, or a deck that fits that format.
How long does one tape take?
Real time. A two-hour tape takes two hours. You don't have to sit there — set the auto-stop timer and come back.
Where do the files end up?
On the USB drive or SD card you plug in. They're standard MP4 files, so they open on an iPhone, Android, Mac, or PC with nothing extra installed. Drives up to 256GB, formatted FAT32 or exFAT.
Will it look better than the tape?
It'll look like the tape — that's the honest answer. What you gain is a copy that stops aging today, and an HDMI output so you can watch it on a modern TV instead of squinting at a CRT.
What if I change my mind?
Send it back under our returns policy — the full terms are on the returns page. Register the unit when it arrives and the 2-year warranty starts from day one.
